2nd stage- Last from Crowning to Birth
This stage will begin with an powerful urge to push and will end with the birth of the baby.

  • Contractions will be farther apart during this stage
  • It is important to choose a position which will better facilitate the pushing out of the baby.
a.    An inclined downward or upright position are best for a quicker second stage
  • Relaxation is important during this stage
